AAARRRGGGGGHHHHH! My Detroit guilt… burns. IT BURNS!

Alright. I’ve had enough. Time to come home.

We built another playground in my hometown last week. This one is right on the revitalized and beautiful riverfront. Usually, the bands around the center tower of the Renaissance Center are usually GM’s blue, but I’m guessing it’s been changed for Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Metro Detroiters!

This weekend, at Belle Isle park, Detroit will be attempting to capture the world record for the world’s largest game of dodgeball! See http://www.dodgeballinthed.com/

The event isn’t just about red rubber balls bouncing off of your head though— their aim is to bring in (and create) civic leaders as well as showcase the rebirth of Detroit.

If you happen to attend, please share pictures and your stories from the event and don’t forget the 5 D’s of dodgeball: Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive, and Dodge!

“It’s sterile and I like the taste.”

Justice League Detroit

Dudes… Was this real? Cause this is just about the worst super team I’ve ever seen.

“The morning after the Super Bowl, then-Chrysler chief Olivier Francois urgently summoned his team to his Auburn Hills office.

“As emotional praise for the automaker’s ‘Imported From Detroit’ ad poured in from around the world, Francois wanted to brainstorm: Where else can we take with this thing?

“The accompanying music video is a sequel of sorts to the Super Bowl ad, which featured Eminem in a Chrysler 200, arriving at the Fox Theatre to find the choir onstage.

“Eminem is not featured in the new video, and Chrysler’s presence is low-key. This time the stars are the two dozen choir members, affiliated with Praise Tabernacle in Grosse Pointe. With an array of Motor City landmarks, street scenes and local characters, the clip reprises the theme of Detroit strength and hope.”
